Repurposing Oil and gas wells for Geothermal energy Extraction Project

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am in the final stretch of my Master’s programme and need a knowledgeable partner to help me refine, analyse and present the technical core of my project on geothermal energy generation. The project centres on technology development for heat extraction in power production. While my current chapter set-up explores binary-cycle, flash-steam and dry-steam options, I am open to incorporating any viable configuration that strengthens the comparative study and improves efficiency modeling and optimization.

The key areas where I need assistance are:

• Structuring and editing the literature review so it flows logically from resource characterisation to plant-scale application.
• Building (or troubleshooting) thermodynamic models in software such as Aspen HYSYS, EES or MATLAB to quantify performance under different reservoir conditions.
• Interpreting results, producing clear graphs and tables, and linking findings back to technology-selection criteria.
• Polishing the final document: technical English proofreading, reference formatting (APA), and preparation of publication-quality figures.

Acceptance criteria
1. A working model file (with annotations) that reproduces efficiency calculations discussed in the paper.
2. A concise comparison matrix of at least three heat-extraction technologies, highlighting temperature windows, power output and environmental considerations.
3. A thoroughly reviewed thesis draft, ready for supervisor submission, delivered in Word and PDF.
4. Powerpoint presentation to detail out the project progress and outcomes.
