MATLAB Modeling of Induction Motor

Job ID: 39895063

Budget: €100 – €101 EUR

I am an Italian university student working on a project for an academic exam, but I am having some difficulties completing it on my own.

For this project, I must use MATLAB(version R2024a)/Simulink to model and analyze a three-phase squirrel cage induction motor, following a reference scientific paper that serves as the basis for the work.

The motor needs to be studied under the following three operating conditions:

Healthy condition

Unbalanced supply voltage (with voltage unbalance of 20 V and 40 V)

Broken rotor bar fault

For each condition, I need to obtain time-domain plots of:

Rotor speed

Electromagnetic torque

A, B, and C phase stator currents

Then, I must perform FFT analysis to generate the frequency-domain spectra of these signals for all three conditions.

After that, the project requires developing a fault detection system:

First, a threshold-based method to recognize when a fault occurs.

Then, an extension using machine learning (Random Forest) to automatically detect and classify the type of fault.

Deliverables:

MATLAB/Simulink model (.slx)

MATLAB scripts (if needed)

Plots (time-domain and FFT)

A short explanation or report describing the implementation and results

Preferred skills:

MATLAB / Simulink (mandatory)

Simscape Electrical

Signal processing and FFT analysis

Machine learning (Random Forest)

Delivery time: about 7–10 days
Budget: around €100 (negotiable)

I would also appreciate if the freelancer could add comments or explanations in the model/code so I can understand the workflow and learn from it.
