MATLAB Expert for Thermodynamics Project
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need help with a MATLAB engineering project for a thermodynamics paper.
Project scope
I am modeling an IRRBC-CHP cycle (Intercooled, Regenerative, Reheated Brayton Cycle with Combined Heat and Power) and need support with:
1. MATLAB code for state-point calculations (cycle states 1–10)
2. T-s diagram (with isobaric lines in background)
3. P-v diagram
4. CHP performance calculations
• electrical efficiency
• overall CHP efficiency
• useful heat recovery from exhaust
5. Optimization using fmincon
• objective: maximize electrical efficiency and/or overall CHP efficiency
6. Clean, commented MATLAB code and explanation of equations used
Model assumptions (current version)
• Working fluid: air-standard
• constant cp
• use κ (kappa) notation instead of gamma
• Compressor isentropic efficiency: 0.88
• Turbine isentropic efficiency: 0.90
• Pressure ratio range: rp = 2 to 16 (compressor pressure ratio)
• Turbine inlet temperature (TIT): 1400 to 1600 K
• Intercooling + regeneration + reheat included
• Need specific quantities (kJ/kg): heat input, compressor/turbine work, net work, enthalpy and entropy changes
• Include Carnot efficiency as a theoretical reference (optional line on plot)
CHP requirement (important)
This is CHP, so the model must include:
• useful heat recovery from exhaust (define stack temperature or heat recovery outlet temperature)
• overall CHP efficiency:
\eta_{overall} = \frac{w_{net} + q_{useful}}{q_{in}}
• comparison plot of:
• electrical efficiency
• overall CHP efficiency
• (optional) Carnot efficiency reference
Deliverables
• One MATLAB script (or organized functions) that runs without errors
• Plots:
• T-s diagram (clear, with state labels and isobars)
• P-v diagram
• Efficiency comparison plot (electrical vs overall CHP, optional Carnot reference)
• fmincon setup for optimization (with constraints)
• Brief explanation/comments so I can understand and present it in my paper
Important
This is for an engineering paper, so I need someone with experience in:
• thermodynamic cycles (Brayton / gas turbine / CHP)
• MATLAB plotting
• optimization with fmincon
Please send:
• relevant MATLAB/thermodynamics examples you worked on
• estimated time
• fixed price (preferred)
Please do not apply if you do not have experience with thermodynamic cycle modeling in MATLAB.
