Diesel Combustion Optimization Calculations

Job ID: 39981175

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a short set of diesel-fuel combustion problems that need to be solved and clearly documented. Each problem assumes ideal, complete combustion of a generic C/H/O diesel fuel in standard air (21 % O₂, 79 % N₂ by volume). My primary objective is to see how the stoichiometric fuel-air ratio influences overall fuel-efficiency potential, so every step should keep that angle in mind.

You’ll work out the balanced reactions, determine the theoretical air requirement, and show how varying the equivalence ratio would shift the results. Numerical answers are essential, but I also want the logic behind each step so I can trace the efficiency implications later.

Deliverables
• A concise write-up (PDF or Word) containing step-by-step solutions for each problem
• Clearly labeled calculations for the stoichiometric fuel-air ratio and any supporting properties used (molar masses, standard enthalpies, etc.)
• MATLAB is preferred also include the annotated file so I can reproduce the results

I’m comfortable reviewing equations myself, so feel free to go straight to the point—no need for lengthy background sections, just accurate combustion math geared toward optimizing fuel efficiency.
