I need a matlab expert

I need to plot amplitude of the travelling wave as a function of time. (Amplitude starts decreasing noticably when it reaches the step). You can see from the attached picture that this has to be done by finding the maximum point of the wave at each time step, but I am not sure how to integrate this in my code.
