Simulink GUI for CAN-Based Vehicle Control (Speed, Steering, Braking)
Description:
We are looking for a MATLAB/Simulink engineer with experience in CAN communication to help build a vehicle control interface for a test platform.
Project Scope:
• Build a CAN-based host system in Simulink (using Vehicle Network Toolbox)
• GUI interface to send commands via USB-CAN adapter
• Functions to implement:
1. Control individual wheel speeds
2. Control front wheel steering angle
3. (Optional) Control braking
• GUI should be intuitive, e.g. with sliders/buttons
• CANTest is available for local testing
• MATLAB version: R2019b
• Vehicle uses a custom CAN protocol (Excel file provided)
Deliverables:
• Simulink model with CAN Tx structure
• GUI interface (.slx or App Designer)
• Integrated working solution (control + GUI)
• Documentation on how to run the model
• (Optional) short video demo of GUI in action

• Custom CAN protocol document (Excel)
• Description of control goals
• USB-CAN brand/model to be confirmed
• Any additional information you need (e.g., specific CAN IDs, data byte structure, example values, timing requirements) can be provided on request — communication is fast and responsive.
