Simulate Laser Ablation

I'm Brad, I have undertaken a MatLab project and am requesting help.
I have to use a pulsed laser to create microfluidic channels in PMMA. So in MatLab I am simulating this process first by using Gaussian functions for the laser. One pulse works well but when I try to have multiple pulses next to each other it goes wrong.
Should be a quick and simple job for any professional(I'm just a novice).
Ablationpulsed is the code for a single pulse, and from this need to create a constant ablation depth through overlapping pulses.
My attempt was overlap.
