MATLAB TASK
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Tasks
You are working in an engineering consulting firm. Your team is assigned with a structural design job. At the current stage, a 2D model is used for the preliminary analysis. The structural layout is presented in Figure 1. Your manager knows that, you are doing the course 49047 Finite Element Analysis at UTS and your team is assigned to prepare a preliminary structural analysis report, by using the knowledge you learn from this course. You are expected to use both Matlab and FEM commercial software to conduct the structural analysis, and then present the results that you obtained from both tools in your report. The length of this report shall not to be more than 10 pages (excludes the title page). The content of the report should be including but not limited to:
1. The deformation shape of the structure.
2. Locations and values of the critical sections within the structure.
3. Bending moment diagram of the frame.
4. Reactions at the supports.
5. Convergency studies.
6. Potential issue of the current analysis.
7. Discussion on the results obtained from both Matlab and FEM commercial software
