Geothermal reservoir using MRST
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
This project uses the open-source Matlab Reservoir Simulation Toolbox (MRST). Based on the water phase.
The goal is to calculate the effect of pressure and temperature on the geothermal reservoir.
1. Create a 2D reservoir with mesh 100x100. The reservoir temperature is 500K.
2. A pressure of 40-80 bars is injected with cold water at a temperature of 300-400K, varying by 10-200 m3/day, or it can also be constant pressure into a hot reservoir.
There is a production well the viscosity and density properties of water change according to the IAPWS-IF97 equation or the simple equation from Coats 1967 and al-Shimmer.
3. The results are in pressure and temperature distribution plots for injection wells and production. delta 1-2 hours total simulation 1-10 years
