Enhancement of an AMPL Optimization Model for Warehouse Stock Allocation

Job ID: 37884977

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

Project Description:
I am looking for an experienced AMPL modeler to enhance and expand an existing optimization model focused on warehouse stock allocation and logistics cost minimization. This project adds complexity to the model by incorporating new features such as multi-period planning, warehouse activation and closing costs, maximum capacity constraints, and product movement between warehouses.

Requirements:
1. Update the AMPL model (.mod file) to include the new functionalities and improvements as specified. The new model should accommodate:
- Multi-period planning for strategic allocation and shipping.
- Warehouse activation and closing costs to simulate opening or shutting down warehouses.
- Maximum capacity constraints for each warehouse.
- Costs and times associated with moving products between warehouses.
2. Update the .run file to showcase the model's new capabilities, including warehouse opening/closing actions and product movements.

Attached Files for Reference:
- Existing .dat and .mod files, which will serve as the basis for the modifications.

Freelancer Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in AMPL modeling language.
- Experience with logistics and warehouse optimization projects.
- Ability to understand and implement complex optimization models.

Project Outcome:
A fully functional AMPL model that meets the specified requirements and demonstrates improved functionality over the existing model. The model should help us make more informed and cost-effective decisions regarding stock allocation, warehouse operations, and logistics management.

Additional Information:
I value clear communication and adherence to deadlines, so timely updates and feedback will be crucial throughout the project.
