EEG Data Analysis - PHASE AMPLITUDE COUPLING / PHASE PHASE COUPLING /Optimize Code

Experiment: people walking to 2 auditory stimuli, in different tempi to analyse the synchronization and compare it between impaired patients and healthy controls.

I have EEG and walking data ready for analysis, and the preprocessing is already completed. The code I've been using for the analysis is in MATLAB, with Fieldtrip, but it's too computationally heavy due to high memory usage. I'm looking for an expert who can help optimize and run this code for me.

Just to make it clear, I need as result: the code, the graphs comparing the eeg data with baselines and including the walking data and a analysis of the results. This is done for 6 individuals, including 3 patients and 3 healthy controls, all walking in 7 different tempi: their natural speed and faster and lower deviations

ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE ACCEPTED ON HOW TO APPROACH THIS PROBLEM
The current analysis does a PAC and PPC on the data, specifically in terms of phase of audio, phase of the step and phase of the EEG. Another options given the case can be also considered.
Its relevant to focus on the beta modulation as that is meant to be seen through the analysis

Key Tasks:
- Understand the existing code: You will need to review the current MATLAB code and pinpoint the specific aspects causing the high memory usage.
- Re-engineer the code: Based on your findings, you will be tasked with reworking the code to improve its memory efficiency. OR implement another code from scratch following the same logic.
- Deliverables: The primary outputs I'm expecting from this analysis are graphical visualizations and statistical reports. an overall analysis of the results for both different groups and maybe other findings? different tempi or so?

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in MATLAB: Since the existing code is in MATLAB, you should have a strong background in this language.
- Signal Processing: Familiarity with EEG data analysis and signal processing would be a big plus.
- Data Visualization: Experience in creating graphical visualizations and summarizing data in statistical reports will be beneficial.
