Chemical Engineering Project

I would like to consult you on a solo project I am currently undertaking. I am trying to optimize cost and energy usage for a deaeration column at a brewery. I plan to draw out the PID on autocad (hand drawing is already done). I then plan to model it in python or matlab. I will then propose an improved design to optimize cost and energy and then model it again to prove my changes.

I am still lost as to how to begin the project and I am still researching around. Would love your help/consultation on the technical details and how to go about solving the issue.
