A critical numeracy approach to a contemporary issue

Choose a current issue of interest that is reported in the popular media, in which mathematics is used in the reporting. Select at least two media reports and use a critical numeracy lens to analyse how mathematics is used to inform or obscure the issue. Describe how the process of mathematisation helps to read the world with mathematics using this issue as an example.

Experience in mathematics and strong academic and research skills are a requirement for this task. Will provide further details once short listed.
