Develop a tool to calculate most efficient material consumption
Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR
Looking for a very creative thinker to develop a tool for us to simulate multiple approaches on how to process raw materials into finished products. We are drilling cylinders into stone/glass/etc and want to improve our material consumption by having our own software to run multiple simulations.

The difference with the above links is that we would like to be able to add the thickness of the material in there and the thickness of the required cylinders. So the simulation would have to figure out the best possible way to cut the raw material to optimize material savings from each direction. The results of the simulation should be shown visually (2D/3D rendered) with a summary of cutting efficiency.
More details will be shared about this project when the right Freelancer has been found, as some functionalities are easier to explain by phone.
This is phase 1, the program will have to be expanded with other functionalities in the future.
The person to start this project should be able to comprehend the math/geometry behind this and program this into a reliable program.
