Daily Middle School Tutor for Grade 7 and 8 Math and English
Project Overview:
I am looking for a professional online tutor to provide daily instruction for a middle school student. The goal is to cover 7th and 8th-grade Math and English skills. All teaching and practice must be completed within the session.
Strict Policy: No homework is to be given to the student. All training and practice must be finished within the one hour daily session.
Schedule:
- Frequency: 5 days a week, every month.
- Time: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Math Skills to be Taught:
- Ratios and proportional relationships, including unit rates and percentages.
- The number system, including rational and irrational numbers.
- Expressions and equations, including multi-step linear equations and exponents.
- Functions, including defining and comparing linear relationships.
- Geometry, including the Pythagorean Theorem and volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres.
- Statistics and probability.
English and Writing Skills to be Taught:
- Argumentative writing, including claims and evidence.
- Informative and explanatory writing.
- Narrative writing and storytelling techniques.
- Literary analysis and citing evidence from text.
- Grammar, including active/passive voice and advanced punctuation.
- Vocabulary building and academic word usage.
Tutor Requirements:
- Must be experienced with California Common Core standards (you can google it to know) for 7th and 8th grades.
- Must be able to teach and get practice done effectively within 60 minutes.
- Must be available during the specific 8 PM to 9 PM PST time slot.
- Must have a high-speed internet connection and a clear method for online teaching.
