Materials Science Research Support
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m working on a mechanical-engineering study centred on materials science and I’d like an experienced researcher to become an extension of my team. Your main task will be to dive deep into the current literature, extract and analyse the most relevant findings, and help me translate those insights into clear, actionable conclusions for my project.
Scope of work
• Map the state-of-the-art: collect recent papers, patents, and standards that relate to advanced materials used in mechanical systems.
• Critically evaluate methods, data, and reported performance metrics.
• Summarise gaps, opportunities, and recommended next steps in a concise technical report (Word or LaTeX, your choice) with proper citations.
• Optionally, if you have strong modelling skills, I’m open to brief simulations or preliminary property predictions to reinforce the discussion.
Acceptance criteria
1. Annotated bibliography (minimum 30 high-quality sources, peer-reviewed where possible).
2. Analytical matrix comparing composition, processing, and mechanical/thermal properties.
3. Final report (≈15–20 pages) spotlighting key trends, challenges, and suggested research directions.
Tools you’re comfortable with—MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, or similar—are welcome, as long as the final deliverables remain reproducible and clearly documented.
Please share a short note on your past materials-science research experience and one sample excerpt or publication you can reference. I’m ready to start immediately and can provide prompt feedback throughout the engagement.
