Metal Forming Mechanics Report
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
This project requires the design and evaluation of an engineering product using metallic materials while applying fundamental concepts of materials science and solid mechanics. The project involves defining the design problem, identifying the functional requirements and constraints, and selecting appropriate metal materials that satisfy these requirements. Scientific justification must be provided for the material choice by analysing key properties such as strength, stiffness, durability, and weight.
The project also requires analysing the materials processing and manufacturing methods used to produce the selected design. This includes explaining how different manufacturing techniques influence the material’s microstructure and mechanical properties. Engineering tools such as diagrams, material selection data, and CAD or EduPack outputs should be used to support the design process.
Finally, the project evaluates the results of the design by analysing the performance of the selected material and manufacturing approach, discussing strengths and limitations, and proposing recommendations for improving the design and manufacturing process.
Ensure to get a grade of 80% and above
