Durable Polymer-Textile Bonding Process

I need a materials engineer to map out a complete, production-ready method for joining a thin plastic/polymer insert—think credit-card size and stiffness—to a woven or knitted textile so that the final composite behaves like part of a normal bed sheet. Durability is the overriding goal: the bond must stay intact through repeated flexing, laundering, and everyday use without adding noticeable bulk or stiffness.

The plastic strip must remain reasonably flexible along its length, while the fabric side should be able to accept a liquid-phase treatment or resin. I am open to lamination, injection moulding, glueing, bonding, impregnation, heat treatment or a hybrid approach, provided the route keeps tooling costs sensible for medium-scale manufacture.

What I need from you
• A step-by-step process flow that covers surface preparation, the chosen bonding/lamination sequence, cure or cooling requirements, and post-processing.
• Specific material recommendations: polymer grade or adhesive chemistry, textile type, primers or tie layers, plus any additives that enhance wash-fast durability.
• Key processing parameters—temperatures, pressures, dwell times, line speed ranges—so a competent factory can replicate your method.
• Prototype guidance: how to create a small test batch, what mechanical and wash tests to run, and acceptance criteria for flex life and adhesion strength.

Experience with polymer impregnation, fabric lamination lines, or over-moulding onto textiles will be especially valuable. If you can illustrate the process with simple sketches or reference photos, even better.
