Project Overview
We're a U.S.-based performance automotive aftermarket distributor (60+ years in business, 400+ team, 630+ brands, 35+ countries) looking for an experienced Marketing Director on a long-term contract basis to lead and scale our marketing function across multiple brands and business units.
This is a senior leadership engagement — not a campaign manager role. You'll combine strategic direction with hands-on execution oversight, working directly with CEO / executive leadership. Strong fit for a fractional CMO, senior marketing consultant, or contract Marketing Director with proven multi-brand experience.
What You'll Deliver
Weekly:

Campaign performance updates · team execution updates · channel reviews · risk/blocker analysis · optimization recommendations

Monthly:

Full marketing performance report · ROI & channel analysis · budget tracking · website/ecommerce/CRM performance review · growth recommendations

Quarterly:

Marketing strategy review · growth roadmap · performance improvement plan · budget reallocation · multi-brand marketing direction

Core Responsibilities

Develop and execute marketing strategy across multiple brands, business units, customer segments
Lead remote marketing team across performance marketing, content, digital, ecommerce, CRM, website
Oversee paid media (Google Ads, Meta Ads) — review ROAS, CAC, CPA, CTR, conversion rates, revenue impact
Improve website performance, ecommerce conversion, CMS workflows, landing pages, UX
Manage CRM strategy (HubSpot), customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, attribution
Manage and optimize marketing budgets across campaigns, channels, agencies, tools
Build reporting workflows for executive leadership

Must-Have Skills & Experience

2–5+ years in senior marketing / marketing director / growth marketing leadership role
Proven track record managing multi-brand marketing operations
Strong experience with ecommerce / distribution / product-based businesses
Hands-on with: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics 4, HubSpot (or similar CRM), WordPress (or similar CMS)
Demonstrated ability to improve ROAS, CAC, conversion rates, and revenue attribution
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
Comfortable presenting performance reports to C-level executives

Nice-to-Have

Automotive aftermarket, performance products, or parts/accessories industry experience
Experience with remote teams, agencies, and external partners
Marketing automation tools and executive-level dashboard building
Track record supporting product launches and seasonal campaigns

Compensation

Hourly rate: $100–$200 USD/hour, depending on experience and scope
Performance bonus: Discretionary, tied to revenue growth, marketing ROI, campaign performance, and business impact
Annualized equivalent: $180,000–$350,000+ if converted to full-time leadership structure (open to discussion)
Payment: Via Freelancer milestone / hourly tracking · Bi-weekly or monthly invoicing

Timeline & Engagement

Start: Immediate (within 2–3 weeks)
Initial term: 6 months (renewable based on performance)
Hours: 20–40/week flexible, with consistent overlap with U.S. Eastern Time
Reports to: CEO / Executive Leadership
Team: You'll coordinate marketing team members + external agencies/contractors
