We are actively expanding in Japan and are looking for a Japan-based Freelance Marketing Manager to help grow our Japanese user base.
This role is ideal for someone who understands Japanese users, anime and fandom culture, and is comfortable running data-driven marketing campaigns.

Position
Japan Marketing Manager (Freelance)
Responsibilities
- Conduct marketing research focused on the Japanese market
- Run and optimize online marketing campaigns for Japanese users
- Review and analyze marketing data such as CPI, CVR, and user engagement
- Create simple marketing and ad visuals using tools like Canva
- Plan and publish content for marketing channels (social media, app store, community posts, etc.)
Note: All marketing and content work must be safe-for-work.
18+ or adult content is handled internally and will not be part of this role.
Requirements
- Must be based in Japan
- Practical experience in online or performance marketing
- Able to create simple design assets (e.g., Canva)
- Strong interest in anime, manga, light novels, and character-driven content
- Ability to communicate professionally in English or Korean
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing mobile apps, games, or subscription services
- Experience with Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.
- Experience with social media marketing and community-driven products
- Comfortable working with metrics and optimization
Work Style
- Freelance / contractor
- Fully remote
- Long-term collaboration preferred
Compensation
Negotiable
Rates will be discussed based on experience, availability, and scope of work.
Monthly or project-based contracts are both possible.
