Steering System Go-to-Market Consulting
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I have developed a plug-in electronic steering system for interfacing USB devices with RC cars, boats, drones etc (Controllers, Flightsticks, PC steering wheels etc) and now need clear, actionable guidance for taking it from small-batch prototype to a successful mass-market launch. I’m looking for one experienced adviser who can cover both sides of the challenge:
1. Marketing Strategy
• Position the product for early adopters in the aftermarket and OEM retrofit spaces.
• Map out the most effective sales channels—direct-to-consumer, distributor, or OEM partnership—and outline the promotional mix to reach each channel.
• Recommend messaging angles that highlight safety, ease of installation, and compliance.
• Provide a 90-day rollout calendar and key metrics I should track.
2. Mass Production & Supply Chain
• Advise on the best geographic region to manufacture electronics of this complexity, balancing cost, lead time, and import duties.
• Compare shipping models: dispatch units directly to customers from the factory versus shipping bulk back to the UK for final fulfilment.
• Create a shortlist of vetted suppliers (PCBA, enclosure, and final assembly) with contact details and indicative MOQs.
• Flag any certification or quality-control checkpoints critical for steering-related electronics.
Please structure your deliverable as a concise report (PDF or slide deck) backed by data or real-world examples. I value practitioners who can share case studies, introduce potential suppliers, or stay on for periodic check-ins, though the immediate need is the initial roadmap described above.
