Retail Competitor Field Analysis

Job ID: 40246032

Budget: $50 – $0 USD

I run a group of art galleries, furniture showrooms and interior-design material stores and I need clear, ground-level intelligence on how our rivals operate. Your mission is to visit the competing locations I name, observe them in person and, using whatever digital tools help you capture data quickly, document three things in detail: their pricing structure, their merchandising choices, and the promotions they run both in-store and online.

While on site you might be asked to ship a sample product to me or, in some cases, send a return back to the store, so being comfortable with small parcel drop-offs and couriers is important.

Deliverable
• A concise written document that turns your findings into actionable recommendations I can share internally. Include photographs where they clarify a point, but keep the narrative tight and insight-driven rather than a photo dump.

Acceptance criteria
• Every competitor location assigned has a separate section with observations on pricing, merchandising, and promotions.
• All data points are time-stamped and sourced (e.g., shelf tag photos, promo flyers, staff quotes).
• Recommendations are directly linked to an observation to ensure the report remains practical.

If retail fieldwork, sharp analysis and clear writing are strengths you enjoy combining, I’m ready to brief you on the first set of stores and timelines.
