About the Role
We are an India-based export business exploring processed food and FMCG products for export to Kenya.
This role is pure ground research, not desk research.

Your findings will directly decide what products get imported and launched, so accuracy matters more than fancy reports.

Key Objective
To identify high-demand, commercially viable processed food and FMCG products in Nairobi that can be successfully imported from India.

Key Responsibilities
1. Market Observation & Store Research

Visit local supermarkets, wholesalers, distributors, and local stores in Nairobi

Identify:
Fast-moving processed food & FMCG products
Shelf space dominance by brand/country
Price ranges (retail & wholesale)

2. Product-Level Data Collection

For each shortlisted product:
Product name & category
Brand(s) available
Country of origin
Retail & wholesale pricing
Pack sizes & variants
Estimated demand (fast / medium / slow moving)

3. Distributor & Trader Inputs

Speak with:
Importers
Wholesalers
Distributors

Collect insights on:
High-demand products
Supply gaps
Indian product perception
Price sensitivity
Payment practices

4. Competition Mapping

Identify top exporting countries to Kenya for identified products (China, UAE, Turkey, South Africa, etc.)

Note Indian presence (if any) and gaps

5. Regulatory Awareness (Basic)

Identify if products need:
Special food approvals
Certifications
Labeling requirements
(No legal expertise required—only practical observations)
Deliverables
Daily structured updates (WhatsApp / Google Sheet)

Daily summary report covering:
Top viable products
Price bands
Demand strength
Import feasibility (ground reality)
