Financial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. This role will focus on providing detailed financial analysis and valuation support for small business acquisitions, specifically targeting deals ranging from $250k to $5M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial models tailored to small business transactions, projecting future performance based on industry-specific metrics.
- Conduct thorough valuation analyses using methodologies appropriate for small business transactions, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and market multiples.
- Prepare clear and concise valuation reports to inform acquisition decisions, ensuring they align with the unique dynamics of small businesses.
- Perform due diligence on financial statements, tax returns, and operational data to verify accuracy and identify potential risks associated with target businesses.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and economic factors that impact the valuation of small businesses.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare presentations and reports summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations for clients looking to acquire small businesses.
- Assist in developing acquisition strategies tailored to the specific financing needs of our clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in Financial Analysis
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, with a focus on small business valuation and financial modeling.
- Knowledge of Valuation Techniques
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies relevant to small businesses, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and market multiples.
- Financing Experience
- Experience working on financing deals in the range of $250k to $5M, with knowledge of available funding options for small business acquisitions.
- Analytical Skills
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data specific to small businesses.
- Attention to Detail
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
Market Research Skills
- Ability to conduct comprehensive market research and analysis relevant to small business acquisitions.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting findings to clients and stakeholders in an understandable manner.
- Technical Proficiency
- Proficient in financial modeling software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial databases) relevant to small business transactions.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A CFA or similar certification is a plus.
