Floating Security Barrier Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m developing a set of marine floating security barriers rather than a conventional boat or ship, and I need a technically-minded designer to take the idea from concept to validated model. The core of the assignment is two-fold: carry out full hydrodynamic simulation to prove the barrier’s performance in varying sea states, and convert the results into a practical structural design that a fabricator can build.
You’ll start with whatever baseline data you need—environmental conditions, threat scenarios, operational parameters—and build a 3-D model in the CAD/CAE platform you prefer (Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Orca3D, or similar). From there, run CFD or FEA analyses to check stability, loads, mooring forces, and fatigue; iterate until the design meets the agreed criteria for strength, durability, and ease of deployment.
Deliverables
• Native and neutral CAD files of the final barrier geometry
• Simulation reports with inputs, assumptions, and key plots (drag, uplift, stress, motion response)
• Engineering drawings suitable for fabrication, complete with BOM and material call-outs
• A short memo summarising recommended installation and maintenance practices
Please outline the software you intend to use, your relevant marine or offshore experience, and any past projects involving floating structures or security applications. I’m ready to get started as soon as I find the right fit.
