AWS WPS for Marine Carbon Steel
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
For an upcoming marine‐grade manhole cover fabrication for a drilling rig, I need a formal Welding Procedure Specification that meets every clause of AWS D1.1. Manhole covers will be assembled and inspected in a shipyard environment, so clarity, practicality, and code compliance are equally important.
The finished WPS must:
• Reference AWS D1.1 throughout and spell out all essential, supplementary and non-essential variables.
• Be tailored to marine-grade carbon steel; include pre-heat, inter-pass, post-weld and any corrosion-protection notes unique to salt-water service.
• Specify filler metals, shielding gases and joint preparations suitable for both yard and onboard repairs.
• Come with a Procedure Qualification Record template (or existing PQR data if you already have qualifying coupons for comparable steel).
Process should be stick (SMAW) welding.
Deliver the final document as an editable file (Word or similar) plus a locked PDF ready for submission to the classification surveyor. Include any calculation sheets, material certificates you used during procedure development, and a brief explanatory note so my site welders can interpret the variables at a glance.
Timing is tight; once we agree on the critical variables, I would like the first draft within three days and a polished, surveyor-ready version shortly after feedback.
