WordPress Sites Restoration and Migration

Job ID: 40232509

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

I have two legacy WordPress sites (approx. 2-3 years old) that need to be restored and migrated. I have full manual backups in .tar.gz format: one archive from the original web server and one from the MariaDB database server.

The Goal: Consolidate these two separate server backups into one single, high-performance Droplet/VPS and map them to two new domains.

Technical Requirements & Strategy:
I am looking for a specific setup optimized for speed and stability. Please follow this architecture:

Environment: Provision a single Linux server (Ubuntu 22.04/24.04) / a new drop in DigitalOcean will be created

Web Stack: Deploy Nginx with PHP-FPM for superior performance over Apache.

Consolidation: Extract the .tar.gz files, import the MariaDB SQL databases locally, and reconfigure wp-config.php to point to localhost.

PHP Compatibility: Identify and install the required legacy PHP version (likely 7.4 or 8.0) to avoid "White Screen of Death" issues, while ensuring the OS is hardened.

Domain Migration: Perform a full database search-and-replace (handling serialized data) to map the sites to two new domains.

Performance Optimization:

Configure Redis Object Caching to reduce database load.

Enable OPcache for PHP script acceleration.

Configure a Swap File to ensure stability under load.

Install and configure SSL (Let's Encrypt) for both domains.

Deliverables:
Two fully functional WordPress sites on new domains.

A brief "Handover Document" listing the installed PHP version, database credentials, and any specific server tweaks made for speed.

Ideal Candidate:
Expert-level Linux System Administration (SSH, Tar/Gzip, Permissions).

Deep experience with WP-CLI for database remapping.

Proven track record of server hardening and optimization.
