Fix MariaDB Installation Hang

Job ID: 40165994

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

MariaDB refuses to finish installing on my Ubuntu 18.08 LTS server. The apt process stalls at 89 %, and when I run systemctl status mariadb the service sits forever in “activating”. I installed straight from the Ubuntu repositories without following a guide, so everything is on default settings.

Journalctl and dpkg both show specific error messages that I can share, and I have already tried purging, reinstalling, and cleaning /var/lib/mysql without success.

Deliverables
• Diagnose the exact cause of the hang
• Complete a clean install or restore MariaDB to an active (running) state
• Provide a short list of commands or notes so I can repeat the fix later

You’ll have temporary sudo SSH access as soon as we agree on timing, and I’m ready to share the full logs. I’d like to get this resolved as soon as possible.
