Mechanical Engineer for Agri-equipment Manufacturing - Track type Harvestor, Power weeder & Gearboxes
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with strong hands-on knowledge of agricultural and farming equipment manufacturing. The focus will be on equipment such as power weeders, track-type harvesters, and gearboxes.
The expert should have a deep understanding of the complete mechanical system, including component design, manufacturing processes, technical breakdown, and bill of quantities (BoQ).
This is an ongoing consulting-style engagement where the selected professional will act as a technical expert and guide an existing team that is preparing a detailed manufacturing feasibility and costing report.
Scope of work:
Provide technical guidance on manufacturing processes for power weeders, track-type harvesters, and gearboxes
Break down equipment into components and sub-assemblies
Support preparation and validation of bill of quantities (BoQ)
Guide on manufacturing feasibility, process flow, and capacity assumptions
Assist with component-level costing and pricing logic
Review and validate technical specifications used in the report
Act as a subject-matter expert for the project team
Required expertise:
Mechanical engineering background
Proven experience with agricultural or farming equipment manufacturing
Strong understanding of gearboxes and transmission systems
Knowledge of fabrication, machining, assembly, and sourcing processes
Ability to translate technical details into clear inputs for feasibility and cost analysis
Prior experience supporting reports or consulting projects is preferred
Engagement type:
Ongoing project (part-time or advisory)
Remote collaboration
Flexible working arrangement based on milestones
Ideal candidate:
Someone who has worked directly in design, manufacturing, or process engineering for agricultural machinery and can provide practical, real-world insights rather than only theoretical inputs.
