Manual Lathe Precision Machining -- 2
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I have a batch of solid baja (steel) blanks that must be turned on a konvensional (manual) lathe and brought to very tight tolerances for a precision-fit assembly. Because this is a pekerjaan presisi assignment, the dimensional accuracy needs to stay within ±0,02 mm on the critical diameters and face lengths, with surface finish no rougher than Ra 1,6 µm.
You will be working entirely in steel, so please be comfortable selecting the correct cutting speed, tool geometry, and coolant to avoid work-hardening or chatter. Carbide inserts are fine as long as the finish requirement is met; HSS is acceptable if you prefer hand-honing your edge.
The parts are simple shafts (max Ø50 mm, length 120 mm) but each includes a small relief groove and a 45° face chamfer that must be blended cleanly. I will supply a detailed drawing in PDF and STEP once we agree on the job. Material comes pre-cut; you will turn, measure, deburr, and ship back.
Deliverables (inspected before shipment):
• Finished shafts meeting the drawing dimensions and tolerance band
• Basic inspection sheet listing each critical measurement (digital caliper or micrometer readings)
• Clear photos of at least one part on a vernier/mic before packing
Parts count is five units, so the workload is modest but accuracy is critical. If you own a dial-readout lathe or have a DRO installed, that’s a plus; manual scale reading is acceptable as long as you can hold tolerance.
