Throttle Body Assembly Consolidation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
2.1 Purpose / Objective
The purpose of this Engineering Change (EC) is to consolidate the throttle cable assembly, lever arm, and return-spring bracket from their current positions — distributed across multiple faces of the throttle body housing — to a single, unified actuation side of the throttle body. This consolidation is intended to simplify the assembly interface, reduce manufacturing and service complexity, and produce a more compact and serviceable throttle body envelope.
The following document types are affected by this change and must be updated as part of this revision:
Document Type Affected? Nature of Impact
Assembly Drawing — Throttle Body Assy Yes Callout balloons, leader lines, part positions, BOM sequence
Detail Drawing — Throttle Body Housing Yes Boss/insert geometry, mounting face features
Detail Drawing — Lever Arm Yes Pivot pin bore datum, clearance to housing wall
Detail Drawing — Throttle Cable Bracket Yes Anchor point location, hole pattern, dimensions
Detail Drawing — Return-Spring Bracket Yes Spring post location, bracket footprint, DXF/DWG geometry
Bill of Materials (BOM) Yes Part number updates if applicable; sequence revision
