Experienced MES Engineer Needed
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are seeking for an experienced MES Engineer for a full-time contract engagement (40+ hours per week) to lead the design, development, and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This role is hybrid in Peterborough, UK (3 days onsite per week). The initial contract runs until the end of the year, with potential for extension based on project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of an MES solution, integrating with ERP and automation equipment.
- Document MES configurations and ensure system functionality aligns with business needs.
- Oversee the development and deployment of MES solutions, providing strategic guidance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and design value-added functionality.
- Manage project teams, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct user requirement gathering for manufacturing control and activity tracking.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- 10+ years of project management experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk, Aveva MES, Aveva SCADA, Aveva System Platform, InTouch, or related industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of MES software development lifecycle and solution support methodologies.
- Experience with MES implementations rather than just consulting.
- Proven expertise in installation, commissioning, system migrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking topologies (Ethernet, serial, wireless) and industrial communication protocols is preferred.
- Microsoft SQL experience preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills – must be able to present ideas clearly, collaborate with stakeholders, and lead project teams effectively.
