We are seeking a skilled product designer/mechanical engineer to develop a universal mobile holder that can be mounted on any standard microscope eyepiece. This product will enable any mobile phone to capture images or videos through the microscope with precise alignment and stability. The design should be 90% fixed, with the remaining 10% modular/customizable to suit different phone models and microscope types.

Key Design Requirements:
Universal Phone Compatibility:

1. Supports all phone sizes (small to large screen smartphones).

2. Adjustable-width clamping system with soft grips for secure holding.

3. Works with all rear camera placements (center, corner, etc.).

Microscope Compatibility:

1. Must attach to any standard microscope eyepiece (23mm, 30mm, 31.75mm, etc.).

2. Design a universal stabilizer or collar to ensure precise fit and secure mounting.

Focal Length Adjustment Mechanism:

1. Include a fine-adjustment stabilizer mechanism (e.g., rack-pinion, screw-based, or telescopic system) for adjusting the phone’s focal distance to the eyepiece.

2. Ensure smooth, stable, and vibration-free adjustment for photography.

Production-Friendly Design:

1. The design must be 90% standardized, suitable for mass production using injection molding or 3D printing.

2. Modular 10% part (e.g., swappable collars or adjustable elements) to allow easy adaptation for different devices.

3. Material suggestions (e.g., ABS, Nylon, PLA) that are durable and cost-effective.

User-Friendly Assembly:

1. Tool-free or minimal-tool assembly and adjustment.

2. Should be compact, lightweight, and easy to use in lab or field settings.

Deliverables:
1. Full 3D CAD Design Files (STEP, STL, SolidWorks preferred)

2. 2D engineering drawings for manufacturing

3. Exploded view & assembly instructions

4. Material and process recommendation (injection molding/3D printing)

5. Optional: Rendered images and/or short functional animation

Preferred Experience:
1. Experience with designing optical mounts, phone holders, lab accessories

2. Understanding of injection molding or DFM (design for manufacturing)

3. Portfolio of similar mechanical design projects
