Product Description: Wall-Mounted CD Display (20 CD Capacity)

Overall Concept: A minimalist, wall-mounted display unit designed to hold 20 standard CD jewel cases. The design utilizes a series of slotted shelves to allow for easy insertion and removal of CDs, while maintaining a clean and visually appealing aesthetic. The CD's spine should be visable for easy finding.

Configuration:

Capacity: 20 CDs
Layout: 5 rows (vertical) x 4 columns (horizontal)
Material:

Primary Material: Clear Acrylic (PMMA) or Clear PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol). [Specify which one you prefer, or say "Either Acrylic or PETG is acceptable".]
Material Thickness: 3mm (1/8 inch) or 4.5mm (3/16 inch). [Choose a thickness, or say "Open to recommendations based on structural integrity and cost-effectiveness."]
Construction:

Method: Slotted Shelf Design. The unit consists of:
Horizontal Shelves (x5): Rectangular pieces of acrylic/PETG, each with four (4) evenly spaced slots cut into them to accommodate the CD jewel cases. The slots should be slightly oversized to allow for easy insertion and removal, but snug enough to prevent CDs from falling out unintentionally.
Vertical Side Pieces (x2): Rectangular pieces of acrylic/PETG that serve as the main structural supports and provide attachment points for the shelves.
Shelf Attachment: Shelves will be attached to the side pieces using one of the following methods [Choose one and be specific, or ask for recommendations]:
Option A: Acrylic Cement (Solvent Welding): The shelves will be directly bonded to the side pieces using acrylic cement. This creates a permanent, strong, and visually clean connection.
Option B: Tabs and Slots: The shelves will have tabs that fit into corresponding slots cut into the side pieces. These joints will then be secured with acrylic cement (or a suitable adhesive) for added strength.
Option C: Screws: Small, countersunk screws will be used to attach the shelves to the side pieces. [Specify screw type and size if you choose this option. This is generally less desirable aesthetically.]
Dimensions (Approximate - to be finalized in CAD):

Overall Height: Approximately 625mm - 635mm (based on 5 rows of CDs, with slight spacing).

Overall Depth: Approximately 15mm - 20mm (depending on material thickness and shelf design). This is from wall to the front of the display
CD Slot Width: Crucially: Approximately 144mm - 145mm (to accommodate a standard 142mm wide jewel case + a small amount of clearance).
CD Slot Height: Approximately 11mm - 12mm (to accommodate a standard 10mm thick jewel case + a small amount of clearance for easy sliding. The height of the slot determines how much of the CD spine is visible. Specify if you want more or less of the spine visible.).
Wall Mounting:

Method: [Choose one and be specific]:
Option A: Keyhole Slots: Two (or more) keyhole-shaped slots will be cut into the back of the vertical side pieces. These slots will allow the display to be hung on screws that are partially screwed into the wall. [Specify the desired size and spacing of the keyhole slots.]
