Mailchimp expert for troubleshooting

I require a Mailchimp expert to help troubleshoot and resolve a tagging issue:
I have two clients who I'm creating Mailchimp embedded forms. Both forms require the ability to give the subscriber the option to select one or more topics of interest. I've set up two Tags, and created two checkboxes with identical tag names, as seen in the attachment. As you can see, the submission arrives and the checkbox values appear properly in the list, but they are not being added as Tags.
I'll only consider respondents who are confident they can resolve this issue, or can adequately explain why it can't be done, or offer an alternative solution. I'll give special consideration to any respondent who has read this scope entirely, proving it by replying with one of the Tag names in the attached file. Thanks.
