Magento 2 search issue

I have a Magento 2 site and it runs well, however there is an issue with a particular aspect of the site.
The site uses Elasticsearch and redis, so the frontend search is fast and also the product search in the admin panel too.
The issue is when you go to create an order in the admin panel and then search for a product, it will lock you out of the site for around 10mins whilst it searches for your phrase.
I would like someone to look into this and to fix this issue, as it shouldn't be this slow. I have attached a short video showing the search running fast, until you get to creating an order where it will take 10mins for it to complete.
