Magento 2 - ElasticSearch function & Image resize issue

We have a few issues with our new Magento 2 site.
1. The search function does not work.

2. We bought an add-on to get the image sizes uniform across the site, but it does not seem to work. There is a driver we need to install but our knowledge is so little that we do not know where to begin.
Please can someone help us.
We know this is NOT a lot of work, but we are not able to do this in house and really need some help, please.
