Fix 502 bad gateway error on Magento website

I have a website that is built on Magento that is having product sync issues with our ERP system (Stock2Shop - https://www.stock2shop.com/how-it-works/) and causing products to go into negative stock and also causing products to display that have gone out of stock.
The issue seems to stem from the server, the ERP company has advised that the issue could be a server issue since it is giving a "502 bad gateway" error.
Please when reply to this post indicate if you have previous experience in working with ERP's and more specifically stock2shop.
