Adjust Magento 2 users roles

We need a quick fix with the roles in our Magento backend. We have a role set for just allowing employees to enter products into the catalog - we have unchecked everything else in the roles with the exception of the catalog but we are unable to keep the employees from deleting products. we don't want them to be able to delete anything
