Magento 1 Development

I run an established Magento 1.x store and it’s time to move everything onto Magento 2. I’m after a developer who knows the Magento 1 codebase inside-out so they can recognise legacy quirks and make the transition smooth, yet is equally comfortable with Magento 2 tooling (composer, CLI, theme fallback, dependency injection).

This is a standard, no-frills upgrade. I don’t need new custom modules or bespoke features—just a clean migration that leaves the storefront, admin workflow and extensions behaving exactly as they do now, but on the latest Magento 2 LTS release.

Key deliverables:
• Set up a Magento 2 staging environment mirroring my current site.
• Port the existing theme and core configuration so the front-end looks and feels the same.
• Upgrade all built-in functionality, ensuring payment, shipping and tax logic continue to work.
• Provide clear, step-by-step deployment notes so I can reproduce the process or roll back if needed.

Before kicking off, I’ll grant you SSH/Git access to our VPS and share a full site backup. Please outline your typical upgrade workflow, timeframe, and any checkpoints you like to schedule for testing. If you have recent Magento 1→2 upgrade references, feel free to mention them—confidence with legacy nuances is what I value most.
