Restore Chrome Tab History on Mac

After a system crash, I need assistance restoring my Chrome tab history. I would prefer to use manual recovery steps rather than third-party software or built-in Mac tools.
The process found was ad follows:
looking to complete this process on my machine: Close the Chrome browser to "%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Snapshots" Open the latest snapshot folder (folder title will be an IP address) - I recommend backing up this folder in a separate location Go to the 'Default' folder then the 'Sessions' folder On another window go to "%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Sessions" Replace the 2 Session and 2 Tabs files with the ones found in "%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Snapshots\%latestsnapshot%\Default\Sessions" Open the browser and all your tabs from that latest snapshot will be restored
