Live Trivia Game (Admin panel and Android/Apple apps)
Budget: $1,000 – $2,000 USD
I would like to create a trivia game that people can play from their Android or Apple phone. The game will have up to 100 people playing at the same time and everyone will need to receive the question and answer options simultaneously.
The players will respond on their phone by pressing the correct answer on their screen.
Responses will be transmitted to the admin panel and correct answers will be given points.

When each player joins the game, they need to choose their player name and a sound to be associated with them.
There are four different types of question:
Letters - the player enters the first letter of the answer
Multiple choice - the player chooses one of the options available
Numbers - the player enters the correct number
Sequence - the player puts the answers in the correct order.
All of the above types of question may also have a picture.
Each question will be answered by all the players at the same time.
The fastest player to correctly answer scores 10 points.
The 2nd fastest player to correctly answer scores 9 points.
The 3rd fastest player to correctly answer scores 8 points.
The 4th fastest player to correctly answer scores 7 points.
All other correct answers score 6 points.
There would need to be an admin area to:
- Add the questions and answers for each game
- Control the flow of the game
- See which players got the question right or wrong
- “SHOW SCORES BUTTON” – Display the current scores on the phones and the external monitor (2nd screen)
The flow of the game I see as follows:
- The question and answer is shown on the admin screen. The players are shown the relevant answer keypad (Letters, Multiple choice, Numbers, Sequence). The players can submit their answer if they want to.
- “SEND PICTURE BUTTON” - If the question contains a picture, the admin will send the picture to the devices, players can touch the picture to remove it and display the answer keypad again.
- “SEND QUESTION BUTTON” – If the question is Multiple choice or sequence then the possible answers are displayed on the phone, otherwise if the question is Letters or Numbers, the phone continues to display the Letters or Numbers keypad. The question should be displayed on the external monitor (2nd screen).
- “START TIMER BUTTON” – The admin will start a 10 second audio timer, players must submit their answer before the timer expires.
- At the end of the timer, the admin panel displays which players were correct and how many points they scored.
- “SHOW ANSWER BUTTON” – The admin displays the answer on the phone screen and external monitor (2nd screen).
- “SHOW FASTEST PLAYER BUTTON” – The admin displays the name of the fastest correct player on the phone screen and external monitor (2nd screen). The audio sound chosen by the player that scored 10 points is played to celebrate their win.
- “NEXT QUESTION BUTTON” – The admin advances to the next question in the quiz.
Important Note:
There is no internet connection available.
I am using a LAN (Local area network).
All the players are located in the same room.
I am using a Mac, the admin panel needs to work on that.
