Disable dGPU on 17" MacBook Pro under MacOS 10.11
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm seeking guidance on completely disabling the problematic discrete GPU (dGPU) on my 17" MacBook Pro, which is causing kernel panics and boot issues. I currently run gfxCardStatus but this model occasionally dies on reboot due to dGPU issues. Open to utilizing an eGPU if relevant & necessary.
Hardware Modifications: I am comfortable performing the necessary hardware modifications myself, provided I receive clear instructions.
Main Use: The MacBook Pro will primarily be used for general productivity tasks after the modification.
