Development of a Desktop Chat Interface Application
Budget: $2,500 – $5,000 USD
We aim to develop a desktop application to compete with MacGPT, which facilitates seamless native interaction with ChatGPT from the menu bar of a Mac computer.
The core functionalities should mirror those of MacGPT including:
* Global Access: A central textfield like the search bar, for interacting with ChatGPT anywhere on the desktop by using a keyboard shortcut.
* Inline Typing Assistance: Trigger-based text assistance within text fields (ie in Notes, Ms Word, Browser etc…)
* Menu Bar Access: Quick access to the ChatGPT Web interface or natively, via the drop down menu bar.
* Application Window Access: Enable access to a dedicated window that mimics the menu bar access drop down.
* Easy Copying: Functionality to copy entire transcripts of conversations.
* Compatibility with ChatGPT Plus & OpenAI API: Ability to log in with ChatGPT Plus for web view or use an OpenAI API key for an enhanced experience.
Development Requirements:
* Proficiency in Swift/Objective-C for macOS application development.
* Proficient with Electron.
* Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs.
* Ability to implement a well designed sleek user-friendly UI/UX resembling that of MacGPT.
* Capability to troubleshoot and ensure compatibility across different macOS versions.
* Experience with developing secure applications, ensuring data privacy and security.
* Experience setting up the hosing environment form scratch.
* Data collection, using the chat data to improve the product.
Timeline:
* The project commencement date is 18 October 2023 with a delivery deadline for an MVP within 2 weeks. Budget:$1000
* then preproduction (beta) must be ready within 2 weeks of MVP sign off. Budget:$2500
* after preproduction has been signed off then i want the 1st production deployment a week later. Budget:$2000
* With time for testing and sign off I estimate this project will take roughly 6-8 weeks to be ready to take on sales.
