Configure Bluetooth PS4 DualShock controller to work on steam.

I run steam v020 on Mac Book Pro 2017 running Mac OS 12.3.1. I have an ongoing issue when either Steam, or the ONE game that I play ( American Truck Simulator ) update. The controller drops off, and is very hard ( for my skill level ) to reconfigure/ get going again. I currently have it connected and responding "In Game". but the button mapping is wrong.
