Machine Learning Task: Prediction with Decision Tree C5.0, Random Forest, and Neural Networks

Hi, I need help with a machine learning project. There are two tasks:
1. Data Pre-Processing. The data needs to be cleaned and six new variables have to be created
2. Data selection (which methods would you suggest?)
3. Create predictive models with Decision Tree C5.0, Random Forest, and Neural Networks and compare the performance of those three
The dataset contains 15k observations and I would suggest to split it in a training set (10k) and test set (5k)
I need a quote and some explanation or comments on the procedure and the result - thank you! The procedure can be basic, doesn't need to be very fancy.
