Counting number of trees and missing trees in Vineyard rank

The Project is to count the number of trees from stereo images and find the missing trees in the vineyard row rank. In order not to count the trees repeatedly tracking should be applied which should be robust and count the trees properly without missing any of them. Simultaneous localization and mapping could be used to detect the trees and count them considering them as like a landmarks. Python langauge is preferred.
