Black-and-White Movie Colorizer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m building a platform whose very first milestone is simple to describe yet technically demanding: I give the system an MP4 of a classic black-and-white feature film and receive a fully colorized version that looks as if it were shot in Technicolor yesterday.
For this initial release I need:
• A cloud-based or locally deployable pipeline that ingests an MP4, performs scene-consistent colorization frame-by-frame, and returns a single remuxed MP4 at the same resolution and frame rate.
• Clean, documented code (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch—your call) plus a REST or CLI wrapper so I can drop a file in and trigger the job.
• Color fidelity controls (at minimum: strength slider and optional reference palette) so I can tune results without diving into the model.
• A brief README covering setup, dependencies, and a one-command demo using a short public-domain clip.
If you already have experience with DeOldify, Stable Diffusion video pipelines, or similar GAN-based approaches, let me know—speed and quality matter equally. Future phases will tackle lightning-fast mobile transfers and in-app library sharing, so design choices that keep those doors open are a plus, but right now it’s all about stunning colorization of movie-length MP4s.
