Upgrade FusionPBX School Bell
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I have a custom School Bell application that works perfectly on FusionPBX 4.x but no longer loads on the 5.x branch. The core job is to refactor whatever needs refactoring so the app installs cleanly and runs just as reliably on FusionPBX 5.x.
What absolutely must stay intact is the existing bell-scheduling engine: it already triggers bells at the right times and ties into FusionPBX’s dialplan, so the logic and UI for that piece cannot change for the end user. While you are in the code, I also want one upgrade—support for multiple independent schedules (e.g., regular day, exam day, shortened day) that an admin can switch between without rewriting times.
Most of the code is PHP with a little XML dialplan and Lua. You will likely touch event sockets, XML/CSS templates, and any API calls that broke between 4.x and 5.x. Please keep database structure consistent unless a 5.x requirement forces an alteration; in that event, document the change clearly.
Deliverables
• Updated, install-ready app packaged for FusionPBX 5.x
• Source code with clear comments on changed sections
• A brief README covering installation steps, how to select between multiple schedules, and any new permissions needed
• Proof-of-concept demo on a 5.x test instance (screen-share or short video is fine)
Acceptance criteria: the app installs without errors, the original single schedule runs correctly, the new schedule selector works, and no existing dialplan entries are broken.
If you’ve already migrated modules between FusionPBX versions or worked with FreeSWITCH APIs, that’s a bonus. Let’s keep the communication tight; once we agree on the approach, I’m ready to hand over repo access and a fresh 5.x VM for testing.
