Project Zomboid Modding & Server Optimization

Job ID: 39733348

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

We run a dedicated Project Zomboid server and want to take it well beyond the vanilla experience. The first priority is a suite of custom Lua mods that deepen combat, sharpen the survival balance, and open up a richer crafting tree without breaking existing saves. Any nagging bugs left by older workshop items should be resolved in the process so we keep crashes and exploits to a minimum.

Good code is only half the battle; the server itself needs attention. Java flags, memory allocation, network tuning, and database pruning all have room for improvement, and I’d like guidance on best-practice settings so thirty-plus players can connect smoothly even during massive horde events.

Deliverables
• Gameplay mod
• Cosmetic add-on with modular character parts and weapon skins
• Patch notes plus commented source files for future edits
• Server optimisation report and applied configuration changes with before/after benchmarks
• One follow-up support session after deployment to iron out any issues

If you’re comfortable working inside Project Zomboid’s Lua scripting ecosystem, tweaking JVM parameters, and stress-testing multiplayer performance, I’d love to collaborate and get this server running at its full potential.
